Annual Free Square Dance at the Historic Cranberry Lake Farm

This fall, the Oakland Township Historic District Commission is excited to sponsor our annual free Square Dance at the historic Cranberry Lake Farm with dancing in the Flumerfelt Barn or on the lawn. Join us Saturday September 10 from 7:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. when we welcome back Glen Morningstar calling to the live music by the Ruffwater Stringband.

“This band has been playing with us since 2011, they are always entertaining, and Glen’s calling guides the beginning dancer as well as the more advanced.” Said Vice Chair David Phillips.

Plan ahead to have dinner served from 6:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. – an rsvp is required – for a delicious barbeque dinner catered by Steiny’s. Tables will be set up if you wish to bring your own picnic dinner. If you are reserving a catered meal, make sure you RSVP by Friday, September 2 so there is an accurate head count. Meals are $8 for adults, or $5 for children under 10. Bring your cash payment to the dance. Call or email the HDC office at 248-608-6807  bbarber@oaklandtownship.org to reserve your meal. Water is provided at no charge.

The Oakland Township Historical Society will have ice cream available.
