Ford Test-Drive Event Raises Funds for Avondale Schools

Patrick Scoggin, President and Owner of Huntington Ford in Rochester Hills presented a check for $2,960 to Avondale Schools for the recently completed Ford Drive One 4 UR School event.  This widely popular test-drive program allowed Ford Motor Company and Huntington Ford to partner with Avondale’s Education Foundation and local community members to “get behind the wheel” of the new Ford vehicles and raise funds for the school by test-driving an eligible Ford product. The City of Rochester Hills is now accepting applications through Friday, May 11, 2012, for consideration for membership on the 2012-2013 Rochester Hills Government Youth Council (RHGYC). Rochester Community Schools Board of Education Honored for Excellence in School Governance

Rochester, MI – Rochester Community Schools Board of Education has met the rigorous requirements to be named to the distinguished list of the Michigan Association of School Boards (MASB) Board Visionary Leadership Award winners. Rochester Schools Approve Cuts for Next Year

Spending down the savings account has never been the goal of Rochester Community Schools. But with so much uncertainty these days about what lies ahead, the board of education and administration have agreed to do just that next year in order to keep programs in place as long as possible. The board agreed unanimously April 25 to the administration’s proposal to make $3 million in cuts, add $176,000 in new expenditures, and use $14 million from the district’s fund balance.
