To be asked back a second time is the ultimate compliment for an artist. Rochester Media was able to catch up with the ever-creative, ever-inspiring local artist Loren Siffring. At 82 years young, Loren continues to put out pastel painting after pastel painting. He has been asked back by the staff at the Rochester Hills Public Library to display his artwork for the month of December. Some of the pieces showcase local attractions in areas such as Oakland Township and Rochester Hills, while others are display scenes from Loren’s travels including Oregon and his home state of Colorado.
Loren goes by the title “His Master’s Apprentice,” as he gives God the position of the ultimate artist. He has some wonderful thoughts (shown in the picture below) on how our Creator wants us to be creative by following His example. Loren spent his early years as a family doctor in Rochester, moved on to become a pastor, and is now an author and an artist that continues to teach and educate others whenever possible. Much of Loren’s work and more details about his latest projects can be found at his website www.LorensMusings.com
