Families will have an opportunity to be face to face with some of our reptilian friends at the city’s newest event, Reptile Roundup. This hands-on program is scheduled for January 19 from 1:00 p.m. – 4:00 p.m. at the Rochester Hills Museum at Van Hoosen Farm.

Jeff Peck, Owner of Suburban Jungle Rescue of Southgate, Michigan will be sharing his passion of rescuing and rehabilitating reptiles. Suburban Jungle Rescue will also offer participants a rare opportunity to get up close with wildlife from all over the world. Guests will be able to see both exotic reptiles as well as ones that are native to Michigan. Featured animals include snakes, lizards, tarantulas, and turtles.

The open house format allows individuals to stop by anytime during the three-hour window. Adults and children of all ages are sure to enjoy the scaly and slimy creatures that will be visiting the museum.

“We’re excited to provide this new and interactive opportunity to the community,” states Rochester Hills Outdoor Interpreter Lauren Oxlade. “Jeff Peck’s knowledge and his wild friends will be a great addition to our Outdoor Engagement programming.” In addition, Rochester Hills’ team members will be available to answer questions regarding the proper care of pet reptiles.

To reserve your spot, visit rochesterhills.org/outdoors or call 248-656-4673. The cost is $5 per person. Spaces fill up quickly, so sign up quickly to secure your spot for this unique experience.
