In recognition of Rochester’s Bicentennial in 2017, the City of Rochester is inviting the greater Rochester area to plant daffodil bulbs as a symbol of celebration for Rochester’s 200th year. To assist in this endeavor, the City is offering a free dozen daffodil bulbs to every visitor to the Downtown Rochester Farmers’ Market on Saturday, September 24.

“The City is proud to celebrate 200 years since it was settled, and 50 years since it was incorporated as a City”, said Nik Banda, Deputy City Manager. “In 2017, the City has many exciting events and programs planned to mark this historic event.”

Daffodil bulbs can be picked up at the Downtown Rochester Farmers’ Market on Saturday, September 24 from 8 am – Noon, while supplies last. The Market is located at the corner of Third & Water Streets. If you are interested in a larger quantity of daffodil bulbs for your school, business or organization, please call 248-656-0060.
