Rochester Posed gets Groovy!

Come see your favorite iconic ‘performers’ from the 60s and 70s including Fonzie, Lucy and Laverne & Shirley! Downtown Rochester’s second annual Rochester Posed event is scheduled for Thursday, October 2. Participating downtown Rochester businesses will turn their storefront windows into live mannequin displays. This year’s theme for Rochester Posed is classic TV of the 60s and 70s. “We were overwhelmed by the success of the first Rochester Posed in 2013 and we can’t wait for another successful event,” said Stephanie Hellebuyck, Events Coordinator of the Rochester Downtown Development Authority. “Many generations grew up viewing these classic television shows so Posed will once again appeal to all ages”

Nearly 25 businesses will participate in Rochester Posed. The event will run from 5 – 9 p.m. Live “mannequins” will pose perfectly still in the windows and storefronts of downtown businesses from 6 – 8 p.m. In addition, anyone who shops at a participating business between 5:00 & 9:00pm on October 2 will be entered to win a 50” flat screen television donated by Meijer (Rochester Hills Location). Entry boxes and forms will be available at each of the participating locations. The winner of the television will be randomly chosen and contacted by the DDA on Friday, October 3.

A panel of judges has been selected to choose a winning window this year. We will announce the winning window on Friday, October 3. Winning business will receive a certificate and bragging rights. Maps will also be available in participating businesses beginning September 22. Each window will remain a “surprise” until the unveiling on October 2.

Rochester Posed is presented by Lake Trust Credit Union and Downtown Rochester.
