AT&T Scheduled to Work on Manhole Structure in Rochester Hills

According to the Road Commission for Oakland County (RCOC), the northbound outer lane of Crooks Road just north of South Blvd. in Rochester Hills will close to traffic Friday, August 28 around 8 a.m. for repair work that will be done on a manhole structure by AT&T. One lane of traffic will remain open in the closure area, motorists can expect some delays. Are they planning on eliminating your landline phone?

This almost secret legislation SB 636 which is an amendment to the Michigan Telecommunications Act passed the Senate by all but 4 votes and is being pushed by AT&T. It would allow basic telephone land lines to be discontinued and the decision has been taken away from the Michigan Public Service Commission and given to the Federal Communications Commission. Frustrated with Dropped Calls or Bad Reception?

If you are like me, you are frustrated with these great new cell phones that do everything except work well as a phone.  I personally was so excited to be one of the first to try the new iPhone 4 this summer.  I have consisently dropped three or four calls per day since I first received it in June of this year.  Well, it appears there is a new answer available from AT&T called a MicroCell.  Other companies, like Verizon and Sprint are calling them Femtocells.
