Updates Being Made to the 9-1-1 Phone System

The Oakland County Sheriff’s Office Operations Center (commonly referred as Dispatch) is transitioning to a Next Generation 9-1-1 platform to provide advanced call taking features for handling emergency calls for service. This transition will begin at 10:00 a.m. this morning and will not affect incoming 9-1-1 calls from the public; all calls will be answered and handled without delay. However, standard business lines into the Sheriff’s Operations Center may be interrupted. During this transition period, additional telephone lines have been set up to ensure that the public is able to contact the Sheriff’s Office for non-emergency calls.

If you experience a busy signal or a failure to connect when calling our business lines please use the following telephone numbers during today’s transition. Please use these lines for non-emergency calls only.

248-454-3431 or 248-454-6616

Once this transition is complete, these numbers will no longer be in service and standard telephone numbers will be in use.

9-1-1 telephone service will not be interrupted during this transition to the Next Generation 9-1-1 system.
