Warm up with Hot Hoops Action at the Annual Crosstown Showdown

Adams and Rochester will be bringing their “A” games to Oakland University in the 42nd Annual Crosstown Showdown on Friday, January 13, 2012. On the line: Bragging rights for the best basketball team in the city.

The Girl’s Varsity teams will tip-off the hoops hysteria at 6:00 p.m. Veteran

Coach Fran Scislowicz (21st season) will lead Adams against third year Lady Falcons coach Adam Sheldon. Last year, Adams took back the title from Rochester with a 50-36 victory. Will it be back-to-back wins for the Highlanders or the Falcons snatch back the honor?

Then at 8:00 p.m., John Pleasant, in his third year at the helm of the Falcons, will guide Rochester against the Highlanders, coached by John Hall (13th season). The Falcons look to defend their 63-48 triumph from last year, as well as their 56-41 victory earlier this season in December.

Don’t forget to grab your gear! T-shirts commemorating the event will be available at both schools prior to the games for $15 and will allow wearers to gain admission to the contests. Those not wishing to buy a t-shirt for admission may purchase general admission tickets at the arena box office for $5, beginning at 5:00 p.m. on January 13.

Generous sponsorship for this community event are provided by Smith Jewelers, FAMS Printing & Embroidery, Qdoba Mexican Grill, Buffalo Wild Wings, Tri-County Sports, Custom Printing, and Rochester College.
