Dinner in the Dark Raises Awareness for Visually Impaired

Leader Dogs for the Blind’s annual “Dinner in the Dark” event on March 6 from 6:30-10:00 p.m. at the MGM Grand Detroit. Guests dine, while under blindfold, experiencing an evening of empathy for those with visual impairments.

“The work that Leader Dogs for the Blind does is truly empowering thousands of individuals to lead independent, successful lives,” said Tom Dluzen, Chief Financial president and CEO. “When we moved our headquarters to Rochester Hills almost five years ago, we were honored to begin a partnership with this national organization, headquartered less than a mile from our office. Dinner in the Dark is just one of the many ways Leader Dog is creating more awareness for their clients and freedom for visually impaired individuals across the country.”

Dinner in the Dark includes a ‘Blind Wine Pull’, Black Carpet entrance, and a Leader Dog Pop-Up Gift Shop. This year’s event also includes a Motown Revue featuring Detroit Legends including The Contours, The Miracles and The Vandellas.

“Chief Financial Credit Union continues to exemplify the impact that corporate partners have on the community. Their continued support of Leader Dogs for the Blind increases our ability to serve more people who are blind or visually impaired. Together Leader Dog and Chief Financial are making more people unstoppable.” Dani Landolt, Chief Marketing Officer.
