The Rochester Hills Museum at Van Hoosen Farm has a variety of programs this Holiday season for the entire family.

Santa and Mrs. Claus visit on Saturday, December 7 from 9:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. Guests can pick the hour of the day they want to see Santa and order tickets on line. Guests start their visit at the Dairy Barn then proceed on a hay wagon to the 1840 Van Hoosen Farmhouse where Santa and Mrs. Claus will meet with them. Fresh baked cookies and a model train exhibit make this a perfect place to share your Christmas list. Don’t forget your camera!

Old Fashioned Christmas takes place on Saturday, December 21 from 1:00 to 4:00 p.m. Hayrides shuttle guests to various Museum buildings to enjoy music performances, book readings, skits, crafts, holiday food, roasted chestnuts, and more. Tickets are available in advance on the Museum website.

All Aboard! Model Train Exhibit is being hosted by the Stoney Creek Model Railroad Club at the Museum’s 1927 Dairy Barn through January 4. The trains will be running November 29, 30, December 7, 14, 21, 26 -28, January 2-4. The Museum is open 1:00 to 4:00 p.m. Admission is free for Museum members and $ 5 adults, $ 3 for seniors/students.

Michigan’s Destination Depots, Lighthouses along the Rivers of Steel will be presented on Saturday, December 14 at 1:00 p.m., by writers/architects Jackie Hoist and Ron Campbell who will present a PowerPoint program on their new bookCopies of their book will be available for purchase and the model train exhibit will be running.

The Museum buildings are beautifully decorated for the holidays by the Rochester Garden Club and are listed on the National Register of Historic Places. The Museum is open for drop in tours on Fridays and Saturdays from 1:00 to 4:00 p.m. with extended days and hours during the Holidays.
