The Women’s Fund is Looking for Grant Recipients

The Women’s Fund is looking for non-profit organizations that are in need of assistance and can benefit from their grants. The Women’s Fund provides grants to local non-profit organizations throughout Oakland County that help improve the lives of women in need. Their goal is to help women in need become financially independent … to have a “purse of their own.”

Grants are awarded once a year and applications must be submitted by October 1, to be considered. Requests for funding must be submitted on a Women’s Fund Grant Application. For grant requests of $1000 or less, use the Short Form Application and for grant requests in excess of $1000, use the Long Form Application.

In 2018, The Women’s Fund awarded grants that empowered women in need with job seeking/job keeping skills, education, specialized training, work-related clothing, women’s health support and inspired women to pursue a better future for themselves and their families, including Assistance League of Southeastern MI,  Families Against Narcotics, Career Dress, and Neighborhood House.

Over the past 18 years, the Women’s Fund has donated more than $300,000 to organizations helping women. The fund is a permanently endowed fund owned and administered by the Community Foundation of Greater Rochester. Through grant-making, the Fund provides ongoing and future support for programs that aid women while preserving and managing its donations in perpetuity by spending only the fund’s income and annual earnings.
